Prominent National Security Attorney Joins Whiteford in Washington

Whiteford is pleased to announce that Dennis M. Fitzpatrick has joined the firm as a Partner in Washington, D.C. A seasoned litigator, he has over 20 years of experience investigating and prosecuting complex criminal cases and has led dozens of sensitive and complicated investigations, both in the U.S. and abroad. He has especially deep experience with sanctions evasion, export controls, FARA, money-laundering, tax fraud and bribery. Additionally, he has handled jury trials and hundreds of hearings on complex matters including espionage, terrorism, racketeering, international drug trafficking and money laundering.
 
“Dennis has a deep understanding of how the federal government, especially law enforcement agencies and agencies dealing with national security issues, operates as well as national security compliance,” said Enayat Qasimi, Managing Partner of Whiteford’s Washington office. “It positions him to be a truly effective problem solver, especially in the realm of compliance with national security laws and regulations.”
 
Mr. Fitzpatrick previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia, focused on investigations and trials in the National Security and International Crime Unit. He has worked in conjunction with nearly all elements of the U.S. government including the FBI, CIA, Department of Homeland Security, Department of Commerce, Department of Treasury and the United States Military.
