Richmond Spotlight: Vern Inge

A leading Virginia litigator, Vernon E. Inge, Jr. has served as Office Managing Partner of Whiteford’s Richmond office since it opened in 2018. His experience spans creditors' rights and banking/lender litigation for both debtors and creditors, local government litigation, construction litigation, many other types of business disputes and sports law. He regularly serves as Outside General Counsel to middle-market businesses.

In addition to his commercial litigation practice, Mr. Inge represents professional athletes and sports agents in litigation, bankruptcy matters and investment-related issues, as well as high profile individuals in business-related disputes. He served as General Counsel to the Virginia State Golf Association for over a decade, received its President’s Award in 2018, and currently serves as Vice President. He has taught sports law as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Richmond School of Law since 2003, and taught Lawyering Skills III (Trial Advocacy) for a decade.
 
A past President of the Richmond Bar Association, Mr. Inge is an active member of the Richmond area legal community and has been named to the Virginia State Bar Association's Pro Bono Service Honor Roll. He is Volunteer General Counsel for the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club, and a Board Member of the Richmond United (a youth soccer club). A graduate of Leadership Metro Richmond, he is a past President of the Richmond Bar Association, the Hanover Education Foundation, and several other community organizations.
 
Mr. Inge has been recognized by Chambers USA for General Commercial Litigation in Virginia, Benchmark Litigation in Virginia, Virginia Business Magazine as a "Legal Elite" and Virginia Lawyers Weekly as a “Leader in the Law.” He is regularly honored by Best Lawyers in America and Virginia Super Lawyers.
